Passing the Torch

Last night, President Joe Biden gave a prime-time speech outlining to the American people why he decided to end his run to be reelected President of the United States. While he still had the fight in him to continue campaigning after his poor performance in the first presidential debate, he couldn’t fight the tide that political dynamic of perception and the possible impact that a Trump victory would have on democracy.

Joe Biden is the last of the Baby Boom presidents — assuming that enough Americans will come to their senses and not elect a felon president. It is truly a changing of the guard.

Joe Biden has shown America what a leader does, put the interests of the country above his own personal ambition. I am sure that this decision was one of the hardest Biden has ever made because he has always gotten back up to fight.

Now it is up to Vice-President Kamala Harris to pick up the baton and run with it to victory in November.
