Madison Guaranteed Income Pilot Program Manager

This position works with the Institute for Research on Poverty and the City of Madison to assist with planning and deliver the Madison Forward Fund program, a guaranteed income pilot project. The Madison Forward Fund is an experiment to determine how a guaranteed base income could address poverty and create more access and opportunity for residents and their families struggling economically. The Madison Forward Fund program is modeled after the Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration (SEED), which was the nation's first municipal-level Guaranteed Basic Income (GBI) program. Comparable to SEED, the Madison Forward Fund program will evaluate how an income floor of $500 a month can improve the economic security of and well-being of City of Madison residents. This position will work directly with Madison Forward Fund recipients to administer payments; work with program partners (Madison Mayor's Office, Madison Guaranteed Income Pilot Program Task Force, TASC, and others) to plan and execute program activities and ensure adherence to policies; and work with a research fellow to oversee program evaluation.

Education: Bachelor's Degree
In social work, social welfare, education, or related social science field preferred

Qualifications:

-Possesses cultural awareness and has demonstrated a commitment to centering equity in their work
-6 or more years of professional experience and/or education related to poverty elimination, economic policy, or social work preferred
-History of starting or building new initiatives or programs preferred
-Knowledge of and experience using evaluation and community-based research to inform program development and execution preferred                                                                                  -History of community engagement required
-Excellent project management skills required
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ease in public speaking required
-Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
-Understanding of the strength of diversity, and the need for solutions to support all regardless of race, language, religion, gender, immigration status, or ethnicity
-Residency in, or the ability to commute to and spend extensive time in Madison for the duration of the project
-Bilingual candidate preferred - Spanish and/or Hmong

Salary:

Minimum $42,600 ANNUAL (12 months)
Maximum $79,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

This is a terminal, 12 month appointment. This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding.
