Trump’s Wealthy White Male Privilege
I shouldn’t be, but I am continuously amazed by the stuff that Donald Trump gets away with. He has Wealthy White Man Privilege Immunity. I say that because Trump gets away with stuff that I wouldn’t even try. Is it any wonder that the people who have served Trump have landed in jail, gone bankrupt and gotten disbarred while Trump continues to walk around free?
Is it any wonder that Trump raised hundreds of millions for his reelection campaign and then turned around and spent a good chunk of it on his legal expenses? I am the treasurer for several candidates of color in Dane County. When I see what Trump has done with his campaign funds, I can only scratch my head. Why is Trump still walking around free when there are elected officials — Democrat and Republican — who are doing time in a federal prison for using their campaign funds for personal expenses. Don’t tell me Trump’s legal problems are campaign related. He’s misusing campaign funds for his own personal use. But where’s the jail time. Oh, he has
Wealthy White Male Privilege Immunity.
How can Donald Trump commit and be ajudicated as someone who sexually assaulted someone and still be walking around free. I guess he has enough campaign funds to appeal and appeal and appeal court rulings against him until everyone forgets what they were about in the first place. How can someone who was caught on tape talking about how he can snatch women and get away with it? And he still has very strong Evangelical Christian support with some proclaiming him to be the Second Coming? Oh, I forgot. Trump has Wealthy White Male Privilege Immunity.
How can Donald Trump get on national television and talk about people like dogs? No I’m not talking about the way he talks about people who were wounded or killed in service to their country. I am talking about people who have gone through hell on earth, people who have left everything behind in hope that they can get some semblance of a normal life and come at the invitation of the leaders of Springfield, Ohio to fill vacant jobs — no they weren’t taking jobs fro Americans — and save the factory and the local economy. I am talking about the Haitians who live in Springfield, Ohio. Instead of praising them and commending them for pursuing their American, Trump chose to repeat and then repeat the vicious lie that these Haitian people were stealing the pet dogs and cats of Springfield and eating them. And even after the Republican governor told him to stop the lies that were disrupting the lives of everyone in Springfield, Trump continued to tell the lie. How can he get away with such vicious lies? Oh, I forgot. Trump has Wealthy White Male Immunity.
How can Donald Trump insult his political opponent Kamala Harris as being mentally unstable — a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black — and should be impeached for her alleged incompetence? Trump has appeared to be devoid of reality. He has been telling lie after lie for so long and expecting people to see things his way when he says the sun rises in the west that I truly think he has gone off the deep end. In his mind, Trump decides what reality is and the rest of us must adjust. Maybe he does have a God complex. And speak of being impeached for incompetence, why wasn’t Trump impeached for his debacle handling the COVID-19 pandemic and the thousands of people who lost their lives due to his incompetence? Oh, I forgot. Trump has Wealthy White Male Privilege Immunity.
How can Donald Trump still be walking around when he led an insurrection against the U.S. Government on January 6, 2021? When bits and pieces of Trump’s reaction to his electoral defeat in November 2020, I always thought there were a bunch of different political operatives independently doing their thing to try to keep Trump in office. But it has become clearer that Trump was the ringleader of this effort, especially with the newest release of Special Prosecutor Jack Smith’s indictment. According to CNN, it reveals much.
“Broadly, and in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling this summer that granted Trump sweeping immunity for official actions, Smith’s motion claims the former president took the steps he did as a political candidate – not as a president – and that, therefore, he is not entitled to protection from prosecution the justices identified in July,” CNN said.
“When the defendant lost the 2020 presidential election, he resorted to crimes to try to stay in office,” Smith wrote in the brief, which US District Judge Tanya Chutkan released in partially redacted form. ”At its core, the defendant’s scheme was a private one,” prosecutors wrote. “He extensively used private actors and his campaign infrastructure to attempt to overturn the election results and operated in a private capacity as a candidate for office.”
Trump appears to be acting more and more like a Mafia Don who remains Teflon clean while those around him go up in flames. How many people are serving time for the failed insurrection including those who stormed the U.S. Capitol and others who carried out Trump’s other efforts to stay in power?
While the U.S. Supreme Court seemed to give Trump unlimited presidential immunity for any “official” acts — and I am sure in Trump’s mind they were all official because he was trying to save America from itself — Trump’s Wealthy White Male Privilege Immunity has the Supreme Court’s beat. While theirs covers his acts while in presidential office, Wealthy White Male Privilege Immunity protects Trump from anything he does as a white male. And he would claim that 100 percent of the time.
How can we let Trump get away with it?
A test case of Wealthy White Male Privilege Immunity will be coming up in Wausau. The white male mayor took it upon himself without any kind of vote or legal ruling to remove the city’s one absentee ballot drop box in front of city hall. He just decided to remove it because he didn’t like it. Will his White Male Privilege Immunity protect him? Stay tuned.
