“He went into what was happening at the Department of Justice for a spell,” Hart said. “Of course, he spent a good majority of his career as a professional litigator and prosecutor. It’s disheartening for me to see as a prosecutor to see what is happening at the Department of Justice. It was disheartening. Eventually it will impact all of us. I hope there is something left by the time that we get it.”

What pleased Hart was the diverse group who came out to hear Holder’s message.

“It was a good event,” Hart emphasized. “We were just blessed to have him. We have to continue creating pockets of resistance in community where people are sharing and working and dealing with the feeling of like they are making a difference. It was encouraging and heartening and warming to see a very, very diverse crowd of all identities, races and ethnicities. It was a very, very diverse crowd. I think everyone was singular in not only in purpose, but in message. They love their country. And something has to be done. What they are seeing is the destruction of a beautifully flawed country and system.”

Hart said that his church has developed a resistance plan. Let the fight for democracy continue.
