From Warmonger to War Criminal Equals No Peace Prize
The 32-count felon in the White House kept fantasizing about becoming the 5th U.S. president to receive the coveted Nobel Peace Prize. Trump and his bestie, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, are raining bombs, drones, and missiles on Iran. The casualties included six American service people and an estimated 200 innocent Iranian schoolgirls. The current president has made history by initiating eight military operations in one year, more than any other U.S. president.
Nigeria, Yemen, Somalia, the Caribbean, Syria, Venezuela, and Iraq have all felt the military wrath of the MAGA monsters. Iran has felt it twice. Trump was temporarily eyeing Greenland, but now has turned his wicked gaze to Cuba, and to putting Mark Rubio in as president.
Trump doesn’t seem to understand the sanctity of the prize or the wishes of Alfred Nobel, for whom the prize is named. Claiming to stop wars and establishing a bogus Board of Peace doesn’t qualify. His latest bombing of Iran is yet another validation of his insatiable appetite for war to serve his own personal interests.
Alfred Nobel was a Swedish chemist, inventor, engineer, and businessman. Ironically, his inventions, like explosives, were ultimately used against humanity. Like Albert Einstein and others, Nobel had hoped his works would advance and benefit humankind. Under capitalism and imperialism, the military is important. Inventions and research are all about how they can be used to kill people more efficiently, how many resources can be commandeered, and how many regimes can be toppled.
The peace prize process is not a fluffy one of favoritism; recipients are heavily scrutinized. Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt received the Nobel Peace Prize during their presidencies. Another president would not receive the prize until 2002, when President Jimmy Carter was the recipient. Barack Obama was only nine months into his first term when he won the prestigious award in 2009. He was the first U.S. president whose peace advocacy before his presidency was taken into consideration.
Trump is probably furious that two Black men have received the Nobel Prize, and he has not. Recall that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. also received the award. No one can deny that Dr. King fought for peace in a non-violent manner for all of his adult life. He deservedly won the prize in 1964 at the height of the Civil Rights Movement.
The bombing of Iran now involves other countries in the so-called Middle East. The half-cocked plan to bomb Iran did not include retaliation from Iran. Within hours, Iranian missiles and drone strikes hit hundreds of U.S. assets in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq. It has been discovered that Russia provided the intel on these targets to Iran. The results are catastrophic, and peace is not in sight.
For reasons that remain unclear to rational minds, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado awarded her Nobel Peace Prize to Donald Trump. In 2025, Trump had lobbied, begged, and pressured for the award but ultimately did not receive it for obvious reasons. Machado knew that while she could give away the physical award, the title itself could not be transferred. This gesture seems to have been an empty act, intended to curry favor with the narcissistic president.
Trump will not go down in history as the President of Peace. His Board of Peace is a farce, and his Department of War is appropriately named. After the skies in the Middle East illuminate the bodies and rubble for who knows how long, it will be painfully clear that Trump has violated the sacred mission of the Norwegian Nobel Commission. He is not a person who has “conferred the greatest benefit to humankind in the field of peace .” Trump is a war criminal and will never be a Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
