Since 1982, the Wisconsin Women of Color Network (WWOCN) has been meeting to allow its members to give support and encouragement to each other as
they met the challenges of the multiple roles that women play in the community. On September 27, WWOCN held its annual employment and training
conference at the DoubleTree Hotel on W. Johnson Street. After a morning filled with speakers addressing environmental issues, the awards luncheon
highlighted the accomplishments of Betty Banks, Estella Miranda, Renee Moe and Adrienne Thunder, the 2008 Women of Distinction award recipients. Valerie
Patterson received the Cammer-Hill Scholarship.
