K. Michele Hatchell is a wonderful fiber artist as well
as the art teacher at Shorewood Elementary. I have
had the pleasure of meshing my words with her art in
a number of projects. We had a wonderful
collaboration in the last school year on the theme of
friendship. Her students made two friendship
bracelets, one to keep and one to give to a friend
with their original poems. This artist-in-residency at
Shorewood culminated in a fantastic mural as well.
Any elementary school in Madison is invited to
contact Fabu in her role as Madison Poet Laureate
and have student poetry shared and celebrated in
The Capital City Hues, at Blkpoetess68@hotmail.com
