Making like Tiger Woods

MADISON, WIS. – Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW) and Vitense Golfland brought together over 110
youth from seven local community centers for a night of community fun on Tuesday, April 15.
Community Center Night provides area youth ages 8 to 17 with free, safe and fun evening activities. The youth had the opportunity to play
indoor and outdoor miniature golf, hit baseballs in the batting cages and drive golf balls on the driving range. The event was an
opportunity for the youth to meet other kids their age from around the Madison area, as well as participate in a friendly competition of
miniature golf.
“We are thrilled that we are able to provide local youth with the opportunity to explore healthy and safe activities,” says Emily Curtis,
Community Care Manager for GHC-SCW. “We hope this event will help to encourage the youth to make active and healthy lifestyle
choices.”
Community centers that attended the event include: Bayview Neighborhood Center; Boys & Girls Club of Dane County-Allied Drive; Bridge
Lake Point Waunona Neighborhood Center; East Madison Community Center; Kennedy Heights Neighborhood Center; Neighborhood
House; Vera Court Neighborhood Center.
