Wisconsin Union Theater
Bringing the greats to play in the 2008-09 Season
Continuing its 89 year tradition of quality performance arts, the Wisconsin
Union Theater announces its 2008-2009 season, full of artists known as the
best in their field as well as the finest rising stars.  This season offers:
Seven splendid performances in the Concert Series, showcasing the
Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, veterans like Leon Fleisher and new stars
such as soprano Danielle de Niese; Six excellent World Stage events, as
well as the free fifth annual Madison World Music Festival — this time,
four days of outstanding musicians from all over the world — three days at
the Memorial Union and one at the Willy St. Fair; the third annual Isthmus
Jazz Series with three exciting, diverse performances, and the free Isthmus
Jazz Fest on the Terrace; Special events, including unique music
offerings and dance by tap master Savion Glover as well as the
outstanding Diavolo dance company; A showcase of Louisiana music
genres, with Cajun, Zydeco and New Orleans Jazz Jeffrey Siegel with his
famously informative and entertaining Keyboard Conversations®; Travel
Adventure Film Series; Dinners, lectures, free events and so much more!
