Reception at The Edgewater to Retain Justice Louis Butler
A Justice for all people
About 75 people from diverse communities showed up at The Edgewater Hotel to
meet Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Louis Butler who is currently in a fierce battle to
be elected to a 10 year term on the court.
During his comments, Justice Butler stated that he had been “Swiftboated, CREEPed
and Willie Hortoned,” referring to the national groups that have been pouring money into
negative advertising against Butler and the shadowy ad put out by his opponent.
Also during his comments, Butler emphasized his belief in the rule of law and the
importance of considering each case unto itself without prejudice from having taken
general political stances for or against certain types of cases so that Wisconsin’s citizens
can feel assured that they will have their day in court.
The election for the Wisconsin Supreme Court is April 1.
