Too few making decision for many
By I. Paulette Hill
The soberness of reality has not set in; we are still drunk on the making of this country’s history. More
importantly, the decisions and its effects about to be made will usher us into the next century. Many will be
affected but its casting sessions of political power is not representative of mainstream America. Did we fall
asleep with our anger and waiting for someone to wake us up? Do we run like cockroaches in a defenseless
state of mind? It’s natural to strike back, let’s use insight as hindsight in banding together.
We must accept change like foreign radicals integrating our minds to sprout new thoughts; the indomitable
character of past thought does count. I’m impressed and validated by the pitfalls of unethical boundaries placed
in my midst. Yet, I count it as a blessing to be a witness of this fore barring torch to be passed on.
Too Few Making Decision for Many
From the ports of nowhere my ship sails, do I not have the God-given right to be the benefactor of my bundles. I
saw my parents toil, their parents and their parents, were their lots ill slated? Individual determination is not a
wasteland for individual achievement. Let us not be arrogant in thought and carry sadness as gill squashed
emotions. Hope must not vanish like a failed experiment; optimum must be gathered like a harvest of ripe fruits
from live vines.
Too Few Making Decision for Many
Do we have the confidence to trust our brethren to make the right decision or are we too steeped in the past to
be optimistic about our future? Roles are intertwined, we meet at the crossroads of life but should we take a
particular stand? Truth to theory is snuffed out, how crazy is our radical history which has dictated otherwise. We
stand empty before a full fountain believing the embodiment of surprise will be revealed. Our flame has not
been distinguished or retired to a desolate landscape of dull colors or a spotted future.
