Black History Month Concert
The UW-Madison Wind Ensemble will perform on February 25 at 7:30
pm in Mills Hall. The concert opens with the UW “First Wave”
ensemble in a spoken word performance. The musical works that
follow include “American Guernica,” Adolphus Hailstork’s memorial
to the victims of the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in
Birmingham, Al, which killed four girls and “Can’t Nobody Do Me Like
Jesus” with the gospel choir from Holy Redeemer Church of God in
Christ in Milwaukee. The event is free and open to the public.
