| R Place on Park debuts in South Madison |
| On January 19, Rick Flowers and Annie Weatherby- Flowers opened their new bar at 1821 S. Park Street. Flowers had been preparing for this moment for the past few years as he slowly went through the licensing and approval process for the bar and remodeled the interior himself — Flowers is a certified electrician — with a little help from his friends. On hand to usher in the grand opening was Bobby Bryan & The Original Downtown Players, Madison’s premier blues band. Flowers is also the drummer for the band, which will be representing Wisconsin at the International Blues Competition in Memphis January 31-February 2. |
